oil on panel 6x9"
felt very privileged when i wondered into this little scene last evening.
the rugby pitch in Builth Wells, with the very last burst of the low sun,
the sounds of the boys killing each other...
and all i had to do was quickly put down some colors

Interesting light in this one....
Maggie
ahhh... you make it sound all too easy, as Maggie said lovely light and the golden rugby posts is a wonderful touch. r.
You did very well to catch this in the time available Rob. It's a lovely little late summer evening scene.
Great painting Rob. I especially like the great sky.
i'm working a lot on contrast lately maggie
light vs dark, cool vs warm, sharp vs soft...
thank you
it is never easy rahina,if it was we would loose interest...
cheers !
the rush was good keith, more and more i like to keep it unfinished, thinking i patch it up at home but end up leaving it...
the skys are ever changing this time of year, very exciting
thank you dick
Saw this on Saturday but didn't have time to comment - had to go and watch SA lose to Aus in the Tri Nations! Another great painting Rob.
ofcourse how could i forget
rugby is right up your street liz...cheers mate
Wonderful light here!
thanks fabio
it was good to catch that light
The lovely quality of light belies the violence of the game. My son plays rugby and I cringe every time I see him play.
hum yes davida i rather watch it than play it...
