Wexford plein air festival,Ireland

The 3d annual Wexford art in the open festival was another great success.the weather wasn't great but the spirit of the people made more than up for it.

not sure what i enjoyed more the painting or the nights in the Irish pubs,
luckely i didn't have to choose!
i felt privileged to be part of the great Michael and Michael show!

86 painters on the streets of Wexford,Ireland this bank holiday weekend
an exhausting and very satisfying trip.
Ireland was all it was meant to be,the lovely people,the rain
the pubs...the Guinness and the singing...don't ask!

Bridgend a town in the south,hit by the closure of the coal mines
resulting in mass unemployment and social problems,including drug-use.
huge housing estates with teenagers having no future,only boredom...

Road to Brecon

Well Rene has arrived...and look at the weather,
a real Welsh baptism...wet,windy and cold!
This was painted on the way back from the airport picking him up,
the road through the Brecon Beacons.

We arived home in the dark,
little did Rene know he would wake up to a view like this one below.

Ever tried a Rainbow !?

Ever tried a rainbow!? it is hard!! especially alla prima,wet in wet.
This was a little excercise from a picture i took from the many,many rainbows here in Wales.
Can't imagine doing this plein air,before you're set up,it will be gone...
