a dipper is a little bird you can spot by the Welsh rivers and streams,
bigger than a robin,brown with a white brest
it can walk under water,hence its name..

fancied something different in the afternoon...
lots of interested passers by...
the workers came over,what a noise!
digger,oil on board 6x9"before i painted this last one
i asked the work man how long they would be...
an hour till dark was the reply
after my easel was set up,
the digger promptly drove off,eek!
luckily it came back after 15 mins.

fuzzy where its needed and sharp where it has to be.

suggestion of dust, ... well done!
The first one is on home ground so to speak, also very good, but then
again you may expect it from you for that matter.
The last one I find it the lesser one. but then again three in a row, can't be
all toppers can it?

What a productive day, Rob! These are really nice! I especially like the Dipper. I saw a dipper in a rocky mountain stream in the western US several years ago. They are fascinating little birds. And your painting is wonderful! Hope tomorrow is as good.

Fabulous, Rob! You recent winter paintings are so great and here with the digger and the driller you have done such a good job. The old carriage is also a favourite of mine.
Yeh, the digger and the driller are special especially the latter. It's that dust combined with snow feeling, so much atmosphere. Now, I am trying to find the Dipper. Am I being a bit thick? Perhaps he has dipped under the water.

i'm surprised i got any straight lines at all,with that driller going for it,the ground was shaking
so was my brush,so was the painting,it was so noisy,at times i was thinking what the hell was i thinking!

Hi Rob. All three are really good, although I like the "Driller" the best. That mound of carnage it sits upon, with the sharp edges and suggested 'stuff', is really nicely done.

it was a matter of simplify,squint,simplify with a few sharp edges thrown in
I love "Driller." You really get a sense of action with the dust cloud-always such wonderful atmosphere in your paintings!

I love the outside two but the middle one won't load - you wouldn't think a digger would make a great subject but this is not the first successful tackling of it have seen.. I guess its because of the destruction you have to have before something new can be made - maybe... well whatever it is I find them surprisingly moving.
