I had to give up on painting on Wednesday, I was wilting in the heat. I don't know how you could bear it! It obviously didn't affect your painting ability - lovely piece!
Rob, I like your painting very much. You have a wonderful composition with great aerial perspective. Do you tone your canvas before painting? The soft purple "over colour" I am seeing nicely unifies the painting and sets a beautiful mood.
(We've had a very hot spell here in Canada, July 14-23 I was involved in a paint-out and in that duration, I only produced 2 paintings--just too hot)
yes,i prime my boards with either a weak orange or pink,this will break up the many greens of summer this together with a limited palette of just three colors enables me to create harmony.
2 paintings on one day,sounds like a result to me,especially on a hot day!!

We are getting record breaking cold snaps in some parts of South Austrlia....brrrr!!!
