A truly beautiful painting Rob, and I would dearly love to join you in Tuscany (looove Italy!) and learn how to paint landscapes properly! but I think you know that our exchange rate, airfares, visas, etc put it totally out of reach! Please remember to post lots and lots of paintings when you're there.

do you mean you were in toscani painting?
Hi Rob!..... Yes I did paint in Tuscany, Venice, Ravenna, Padua and San Leo in 1989. I stayed in Venice for eight weeks finishing up my Art History degree at Queen's University...I travelled...and "painted my brains out" nearly 24 hours a day for the time I was there!
I would have to say that this experience was the pivotal point in my decision to become a full time artist... after a 27 year teaching career.
