Irish rain

oil on panel 8x10"

here another painting done during my stay in Ireland
Michael and i had to go out no matter the weather.
and it shows you don't need a nice day to make a nice painting...
Michael did a lovely brighter version here

That painting really caught the overall mood of the day Rob. But the sun was trying to come out occasionally (OK it tried to rain too!)and I tried to capture that effect in mine. I still think the real stars of the week-end were your two rainy street scenes - they looked even better IRL.

You've really captured that feel of light summer rain here Rob. Love the colours.

That is a familiar look! you've captured it so well!Yes, it's true- the weather is certainly changeable there in Ireland (at least Cty. Kerry, where I've been)...You end up painting in all kinds of weather! Beautiful!

Great atmosphere in this painting and I like that there are small spots of intense green and purple to draw me in. Beautiful!

They're both nice paintings. I like the stronger values in yours and the way the track disappears round the corner.

This painting really captures the beauty of rain. Grey days can be the best painting days, all that gorgeous neutral color with a few zings. Don't you think?

I agree Rob, colors do appear more intense in overcast weather conditions. You captured the 'rainy' atmosphere brilliantly. I'm lovin' it!
