I find it hard to get clusters of flowers to look right but you have got these flowers in the forground standing out from one another. Each is so distinct around the trunks, so delicate. annie
I echo the comments above, particularly with regard to colour. Have you changed the colour of your underpainting? I love the recession and the way you have altered the value of the flowers as they move back in the scene. Do you do this with the addition of complementaries or something like Payne's?
it was a big wood full of them keith, now a few years ago i would have painted the whole lot, now a days i've learned my lesson, just be lazy, you can't do it all!
no mick it is still orange/pink. do you mean payes grey? if so,no way,i don't need earth colors to create mud, that happens by itself quite easely, hahaha just use a complimentary color to dull it down, maybe a bit of white but not to much...

Great Rob. The effect of the strip of light that breaks through the trees is realy terrific.
thats what stopped me in my tracks dick,a ready made composition.

I like the way you've painted quite a small patch of flowers, but given the impression of a wood full of them.
there's a background light here..and it's beautiful. You know how to choose a subject!
