Good Morning!

making the most of the nice mornings we are having here,
was to late for the mist, but the sun coming thru was a nice effect as well...
didn't finish the first one and after looking at it for a while, felt i didn't need to...
when i finished the second one it was only 12.30 and time for work!

both oil on canvas 7x10"

I really like the composition and atmosphere in the first one.

Two good ones Rob. It's almost like the bottom one is the reverse of the top one, composition-wise, that is. I think you're right that the earlier one didn't need any more.

A good decision to leave the first one Rob. It has a nice feeling of an autumn morning.

Love them both but the first one is my favorite - its mystical evokes a loy of feeling.

Delightful, atmospheric landscapes! I really like the color combinations and how you've handled the medium!

Do you prefer oils or acrylics? Canvas or paper? I'm sort of new to painting, and I'm interested in your opinion.

I love the top painting; great composition and you really captured the brightness of a hazy morning. I didn't see the sun at first, that was like a hidden surprise.

hi comfy,
i can't choose between oils or acrylics...they both have great possibilities.
acrylics are a bit easier, you can paint over things because it drys so fast, where with oils you really have to plan things as not to create mud...they are a bit mystrious, create more depth and texture.
outside acrylics dry a bit to quick,
and they are hard to use in rain and freezing conditions...
but these things are all personal, you might like pastels are watercolors...

Great paintings Rob. Especially first one has a great atmosphere. I notice that I'm not the only one with this view :)
