this is the kind of weather, rene had arranged for our little trip,it is called, rene grey...i think talens does a nice tube of it,only opaque.
my turn to pose
rivier de waal 7x9" oil on canvas
really wanted to paint the big rivers in holland, when we got there i wasn't so sure,it was so damp and foggy the paint wouldn't stick to the panel...

very cool paintings Rob. I like the atmospheric effect in both, and judging by how soupy the weather looks in the photos, you've certainly nailed this feel. Good drawing with the path and the receding fenceposts in the first one.
Mike
thanks michael, yes a good practice day for greys...mauves in my case.
the fence was a good little knive practise, thanks to rene...
Hehehehe, Rob the bright site of it is, that you ONLY need "René Grey"
Cheap, easy to paint with and last but definitely not least,
It never goes wrong!
Every painting with "René Grey" is a success!! Hehehe
Nice to see them again, I like all three of them. I give a nice feeling of how Holland is during those days
rene, rene grey is the most complicated color you can get,it has got a special secret formula and uses rare ingredients, only available in space...so i don't know what yoy are talking about??
Easy Rob, ...
It's a residue from pea soup I think. Or was it a by product??
i have to admit,that rings a bell..
