HI Rob, Thanks for visiting. Yes Pembrokeshire is 'Paintig Heaven'. I used to live in Wales and lov ereturning no eand again, like a second home. Have enjoyed looking at your work. Some lovely pieces and I like the blurred effectyou create sometimes implying movement and light. Your palette is quite unusual,what colours do you use?

hallo Andrew,thanks for your nice comments,glad to see i'm not the only one with bad spelling..lol..
since coming to Wales my landscape painting really took off,there is too much to paint here!

i use a limited palette,or concentrated palette is what i like to call it;
3 primaries plus white;
Aliz.crimson,ultra m. blue and lemon sometimes replaced by cad yel light...

Hi, That's pretty interesting. I read of a similar method. | think the colours suggested were, Magenta, Pthalo blue and a pure yellow, probably cadmium, I forget which. Maybe I'll experiment with such a palette one day. My last two postings look so different, but that was how I saw the colours.
Yea, Wales is so great, wish I could get there more. Keep up the good work.

Hi Rob, This looks very familiar!! The photo of your setup on the coastpath looks idyllic. I'm very jealous!! ;-) I really like the way you've painted the sea... the colour and the captured light. Lovely!

eek! phtalo blue,powerfull stuff!!
think you need something a bit stronger than magenta,Andrew,to balance that one....try aliz.crimson or bright red...

I probably use fairly conservative colours, I should try a few more never having used Pthalo Blue before; am using Windsor Blue which is very nice in contrast to ultramarine. I use Alizarin chrimson and carmine, haven't tried Magenta yet. I think that and Pthalo blue were suggested because they are supposed to be the purest colours for mixing. But your choice works very well - when I get time I'll try experimenting.
