Hi there Mate!... And ain't it indeed "gold" for painting en plein air... when Autumn refuses to submit to ol' Man Winter?
Sadly... winter arrived BIG time overnight here for this Remembrance Day. Snow's on the ground... plows have been around - a sure sign that winter's here to stay!
I love the rich colour in this one Rob... but more especially the interesting visual interplay... between the row of trees trunks... and the arches of the bridge immediately behind!
it wasn't easy to push that bridge and background back...all the colors were so the same is this scene oh no snow allready....aaaaargh...your world is so beautiful but so brute as well bruce
Ah golden hour on golden fall leaves. Breathtaking! Our fall wasn't even close to spectacular here in Maine. Funny how different years can offer such a different display. I suppose that's why some years yield a great tasting crop for producing wine, while other's don't. Nature has a way all its own. Lovely painting full of warmth.
I can imagine how difficult it must have been to paint this, with the bridge arches and the trees. You've done it though, and you've got a good sense of depth to it. I love your trade-mark complementary colours again.
Just discovered your blog and realy like your work, especially this one, its very like a scene here in France I saw last week but wasn't able to paint it, perhaps I lacked the bottle! Love the rich vibrant colours and the brushmarks, you have a confident and accomplished style. Bravo
Extraordinary and gold work Rob, I really like. I do not live in Barcelona and now I'm in my hometown, near Valencia, light and the sea here are great. Spanish exchange trees and I would like to take a trip to England, Wales, Scotland etc.. Someday you could be. Sorry for the English, you know it is a translator and I do not trust at all.
