Wexford,Ireland, plein air painting festival 3

no stopping shopping oil on panel 8x10"
.
86 painters on the streets of Wexford,Ireland this bank holiday weekend
an exhausting and very satisfying trip.
Ireland was all it was meant to be,the lovely people, the rain
the pubs...the Guinness and the singing...don't ask!

more shopping in the rain, oil on panel 6x9"

day one was a total wash out, which i enjoyed very much...

the balloon seller, oil on panel 6x9"

Saturday the sun came out and with it most of the other painters...

i was lucky enough to bump into this balloon seller.

...more Irish work will follow...

such beautiful atmospheric paintings. the weather has been pretty precarious in this part of the world but then it wouldn't be Ireland:) thank you for sharing your journey.

Having never been to Ireland, this is exactly how I've pictured it (the first painting definitely). All wet. Sounds like you had a fantastic and exhausting time. Especially after cycling round France!

Of course I love the rainy ones best Rob - what a trooper you are! Ah yes, the good old Guiness. It's good stuff, full of iron, so you can pretend you are taking it for medicinal purposes!

Rain! how lucky you are. Here we only have warm weather. I´ll have to refresh me watching your paintings or in the shower :P

I´m going to enjoy with the stuff you painted in Ireland.

These paintings remind me of the classical style of the impressionists(Manet,Monet, Renoir, etc.). You have beautifully captured the atmosphere and spirit of that particular time of day. Delightful works of art.
