Lovely sense of distance and size in the first one. You got me dusting off my fly rods and heading for the river.

No "Suckers" (The name of a fish around these parts..sort of like lawyers...bottom feeders)in these paintings, Rob. Beauties...!
: )...I do not find the "Big Trees" boring at all. Nice 'stuff'.

Have a great painting summer...

Wow Rob,

You are good in "Invullen" :-O

Although you have a point, is definitely not a boring piece,
a simple composition okay but the warm glow and the extreme yellow field is well worth painting and looking at. It's soo hard to get that yellow glow into a field like this, you don't wanne know how much pieces I thrown away attempting to paint a piece like this one, ...

So no "Invullen" anymore I say what I say but that doesn't mean that I mean what I don't say, that would be much too much said.

Keep them coming Rob!

maybe it is the flat afternoon light frank, the last few paintings were blessed with the evening glow...in any case,it was stunning being there.
i know them suckers,haha

I really like the fishing piece. It has a good feel for the place - the deep river valley, and a nice atmosphere - a quiet day on the river.
And yes, the trees painting is good too. Those buttercups really glow.

This is the Wales I remember from my very long ago trip there. Those mountains and valleys are so very very beautiful. Thank you for the beautiful reminders.
(PS There seem to be a lot of Jones' and Willliams' here at the moment!)
