in the morning
a break from the tullips
like being in mini wales
daffs and bluebells

back to what we came for,
trying to capture those bloody red tullips....

these tullips need a constant supply of water,
tractors pump the water from little"slootjes" canals
and pull sprinkelers across the fields....
i didn't even try to make the colors look like receding
they didn't seem to in reality...

oh wow...you've teamed up with Rene! That is fantastic! Had to laugh about the long trip to a place that looked like a usual place back home. haha! I'll check out Rene's paintings too. All of these are fantastic...they do tell the story...fresh off the easel. I can't have a favorite....but if I did it would be the top one..springtime!
Great to see the results of your Easter break Rob. I particularly like your "lost place" painting - maybe Rene was on to something you see. It has a focus on shape and (although I don't like the word) abstraction of a felt reality. Phew, I'd better shut up and get the potatoes on.
Great! Beautiful show of some excellent work. You have a teriffic sense of color and felt reality. We are so lucky that you share it with the net!
I like the restfulness of the dike house after all those red fields. I imagine that you might have felt the same.
